Whether you just have a few questions or are facing serious charges, the Law
Offices of Judith A. Litzenberger will take you seriously and provide

Most firm clients are personally referred by other satisfied clients and
reputable attorneys who recognize Jude's reputation for hard work and
great results. The firm also offers contract work to other attorneys
and firms involved in complex criminal and civil litigation work. As
part of the practice, each year a certain number of cases are selected to
provide low cost or free legal representation to persons who would
otherwise not be able to access justice.
Judith Litzenberger began her legal career with San Diego based Bardsley
& Carlos, LLP where she handled misdemeanor and felony criminal
matters, civil claims/litigation and military law cases. While
with Bardsley & Carlos, Jude researched and authored most of the
serious legal briefs for the busy firm, receiving many judicial accolades
for her writing and research skills and getting great results for the
firm's clients.
Jude Litzenberger has represented clients in criminal and civil trials
with excellent results and was the first San Diego attorney to win a case
by proving photo enforced red light cameras were speed traps in violation
of the California Vehicle Code. (People v. Stewart) Jude
published her briefs and documents on the web so laypersons who were
defending theirselves could benefit and join in the push to outlaw these
unfair enforcement systems. Her attack continued and her work,
in association with other local attorneys and experts, eventually led to
the demise of these lucrative traps in San Diego. Jude was also
defense counsel in the California Supreme Court challenge to Proposition
21's impact on the juvenile justice system which allows juveniles who
commit any crimes to be tried as adults when convenient to the prosecutor
to do so. (Mandulay et al. v. Superior Court)
Jude's attention to hard work and client service started a long time ago
when she joined the United States Navy as an enlisted seaman. She
retired in 1995 after a successful twenty one year career in which she
rose through the enlisted and officer ranks to lieutenant commander.
As a
Navy line officer, she served as Senior Member of Courts Martial and
Administrative Boards and trained command personnel serving as recorders
and JAG Manual investigators.
In addition to experience, Jude has an excellent academic resume which
aides in understanding and teaching the judge and jury about our client's
perspective in even the most complex cases. Highlights include:
University of San Diego School
of Law (1998)
M.S., Education - Old Dominion
University (1982)
M.S., Psychology - San
Francisco State University (1979)
B.A., Psychology/Sociology -
Metropolitan State College of Denver (1972)
